Morris Bart entered the law profession because he wanted to help people. This goal drove him forward through the first challenges of his career and inspired him to start his personal injury law practice, the Morris Bart Law Firm.
In a highly competitive industry, Bart stands out among his peers in his profession because of his fervent dedication to his clients. This philosophy guides his firm and practice of law, and as a result, he has grown his law firm significantly over the years.
"Many of our clients, when they first come to us, have never spoken to a lawyer before and don't always know what to expect or what is going to happen. That's why it's so important that we help educate and guide them through the legal obstacles in a way that helps them through whatever difficulties they face," Bart says.
Getting the Word Out
In the early days of Bart's career, he had to find a way to promote his legal services in a highly competitive industry. He wanted potential clients to know about his dedication to putting "people first" in his law practice, but he faced a very challenging landscape. It wasn't easy to reach those who needed him most.
When Bart was growing up, his father was in real estate and was a "student of marketing." He had a favorite quote that came to mind when Bart was young, first starting to practice personal injury law.
"He used to say, "Early to bed, early to rise. Work like hell, and advertise!" That stuck with me, and I think it sums up what you have to do to be successful. You must work hard and put a lot into it, but success is there," Bart shares.
Bart was one of the first legal advertisers in the United States. There was much opposition to allowing attorneys to advertise, and Bart faced many hurdles. He had to "fight through lawsuits, hearings, discussions," and more to prove his constitutional right to advertise.
Bart also had to prove he provided a service that lower-income people needed. It took some time, but eventually, the legal establishment accepted Bart's law firm.
Growth From Success
Advertising is not the only reason Bart's firm has grown substantially. The life-changing results he's gotten for his clients have enabled him to expand the law firm's presence to multiple states.
"Every year, we help thousands of clients, and that alone has been beyond my wildest dreams. I am also blessed to be able to take our success and give back to our community," Bart adds.
The law firm handles injury claims and has expanded to work with storm claims since it is located in the South Gulf Coast region of the United States.
For Bart's hard work and achievements, he has been honored with awards and distinctions throughout his career, such as being named a Super Lawyer, a Million Dollar Advocate, and Gambit Weekly Magazine's "Best Attorney." Based in New Orleans, Bart is proud to have received a "Leadership in Law" award from New Orleans City Business Magazine.
"I love the city of New Orleans, and I'm very grateful that the New Orleans community has embraced me and helped me achieve my dreams and goals. I feel very blessed that I can give back to the community that has given so much to me," Bart concludes.
