According to a report by the NHBC Foundation[1], house-hunters are drawn to contemporary, flexible layouts and modern facilities of new homes, as well as the idea of buying a ‘blank-canvas’. Award winning home builder, Countryside has unveiled an exceptional new four-bedroom show home at its Cambridge-based development Aura, showcasing the latest trends in interior design and representing what homebuyers can aspire to.
Situated in the new urban village of Great Kneighton, the latest phase at the award-winning development, Aura, is perfectly suited to buyers who are looking for the best location to enjoy family life. The development comprises a stylish range of two and three-bedroom apartments and three and four-bedroom houses.

Designed by Abode Interiors, the four-bedroom Rosetti show home showcases contemporary family living and allows potential purchasers to visualise how their new Aura home could look. Jon Pilling, Design Director at Abode Interiors, comments: “We designed the show home to be rich and glamorous, but modern at the same time; the living room in particular is very opulent with high ceilings. We have used bold elegant furniture throughout that makes the best use of space and maximises natural light. In the living room there is a mix of textures and colours, such as deep navy and tan leather for warmth and comfort.”
Jon continues: “In the master bedroom, we imported furniture from America, with angular detail, for a luxurious feel. The second bedroom also has the same ambience featuring dark chocolate cork wallpaper with brass flake detailing which shines through. To demonstrate the best in family living, we wanted the kid’s bedrooms to be the main focal points in the house. Similar to the living room, the boy’s room has very high ceilings; to illustrate this we have fitted a full size ski lift, which acts as a cool place to sit and chill out. The little girl has a room with features to encourage imagination, including a chalkboard wall in the shape of mountains and a play time tent.”
David Everett, Managing Director of Countryside’s New Homes and Communities Central region, comments: “Our aim for the new show home was to create stylish, contemporary and striking interiors to complement the architecture of the development. The Rosetti is the perfect home for modern families, who are looking for versatile living space to make their own. We hope potential purchasers will be inspired by the beautiful interiors at Aura.”

The Rosetti is a spacious four-bedroom home, spread across three floors, featuring a high specification and meticulous attention to detail throughout. Equipped for modern living, the large ground floor kitchen and dining area, is ideal for entertaining or spending quality family time together. Located on the first floor are two bedrooms, a family bathroom and separate living room which opens onto a generously sized decked terrace, offering elevated views. Bedroom two and the master bedroom is located on the second floor and includes fitted wardrobes and a luxurious en suite shower room.
All of the family homes at Aura offer a high specification with composite stone worktops, white gloss handleless units and fully integrated appliances including dishwashers and washer dryers. Bathrooms and en suite shower rooms have white sanitaryware, chrome accessories and cream ceramic floor and wall tiles.
As part of the wider Great Kneighton development, the homes are set amid green open spaces and tree-lined avenues. The masterplan also includes an extensive range of new amenities such as schools, a health and community centre, shops, a library, offices, sports pitches and a 120-acre country park.
Located on Lime Avenue, off Long Road to the south of Cambridge city centre, Aura is ideally located for mainline rail links to London. The Cambridge Guided Bus stops just moments away offering regular services to the city, train station, Addenbrooke’s Hospital and the Biomedical Campus.
