_Areas of strength were trust, strategy & direction and communication & involvement_

[SAS](https://www.sas.com/en_gb/home.html), the leader in analytics, is one of the best places in the UK to work, according to the latest ranking published by Great Place to Work® (GPTW). SAS was recognised in this year’s survey along with 127 other UK organisations. It achieved a position of #12 in the ‘large company’ category, up from #21 last year.

SAS [works hard](https://www.financedigest.com/how-does-hard-money-lending-work.html "How Does Hard Money Lending Work?") to promote an atmosphere of creativity and value, so that employees feel empowered and strive to find the right answers for customers. [CEO Jim Goodnight believes that the company’s](https://www.financedigest.com/elon-musk-who-runs-four-other-companies-will-now-be-twitter-ceo.html "Elon Musk, who runs four other companies, will now be Twitter CEO") attitude can be summed up in the maxim ‘treat employees like they make a difference, and they will’.

The [company deliberately invests](https://www.financedigest.com/wait-and-see-u-s-companies-curb-investment-as-they-await-fed-moves.html "Wait and see: U.S. companies curb investment as they await Fed moves") in building not only attentive and engaging management, but also an inspiring work environment, so that employees feel equipped to give their best every day. It has a dedicated Employee Engagement Team called ‘Be the Best’ – this is made up of teams of employees and continually re-evaluates how the company is communicating with, listening to and involving employees to ensure that the company is a positive and switched-on place to [work](https://www.financedigest.com/why-employers-rocked-by-the-great-resignation-must-keep-working-mothers-on-board.html "Why employers rocked by the Great Resignation must keep working mothers on board ").

Nearly nine out of 10 employees surveyed as part of the GPTW ranking agreed SAS is ‘a great place to work’. Areas of strength for the company were its scores for Trust, Strategy and Direction, Communication and Involvement, and Engagement.

“We’re delighted to have been included in the GPTW ranking once again,” said Charles Senabulya, VP & [Country Manager](https://www.financedigest.com/energy-management-system-market-2021-by-global-key-players-types-applications-countries-industry-size-and-forecast-to-2025.html "Energy Management System Market 2021 by Global Key Players, Types, Applications, Countries, Industry Size and Forecast to 2025"), SAS UK & Ireland. “This validation of where we are now should only spur us on to new heights over the [coming years](https://www.financedigest.com/refrigerated-trailer-market-to-exhibit-increased-demand-in-the-coming-years.html "Refrigerated Trailer Market to Exhibit Increased Demand in the Coming Years"). We’re always looking to [improve our employee experience and make sure that we’re effectively](https://www.financedigest.com/effective-integration-will-improve-mobility-in-the-tl-sector-over-the-next-five-years.html "Effective Integration Will Improve Mobility in the T&L Sector Over the Next Five Years") listening to our people. This is a great foundation to [build on for the future](https://www.financedigest.com/building-privacy-into-ai-is-the-future-federated.html "Building privacy into AI: is the future federated?"). We will continue to work together to maintain and improve our reputation as a ‘great place to work’.”

This is the second time that SAS has been selected for the UK’s Best Workplaces™ ranking, being recognised by its employees as an organisation that promotes trust, pride and camaraderie. The opinion of employees is key: the survey that employees answer (the Trust Index©) represents two-thirds of the final score required to enter the ranking. The remaining third of the score is based on GPTW’s Culture Audit©, a business-driven questionnaire used to [understand and evaluate the organisation’s HR and leadership](https://www.financedigest.com/corporate-leadership-understanding-your-own-bias.html "Corporate Leadership: Understanding Your Own Bias") practices, policies and culture.

Great Place to Work (GPTW) is an international organisation with offices in 48 countries. It uses a standard assessment to determine the best workplaces in each of those countries, as well as [regional and global](https://www.financedigest.com/explainer-global-energy-shortage-or-a-coincidence-of-regional-crises.html "Explainer-Global energy shortage or a coincidence of regional crises?") lists. It is best known for producing the Fortune 100 [list of Best Companies to Work For in the United States, a list which SAS has topped](https://www.financedigest.com/sport-ronaldo-tops-forbes-highest-paid-athletes-list-in-2023-after-saudi-move.html "Sport-Ronaldo tops Forbes’ highest-paid athletes list in 2023 after Saudi move"). SAS is regularly included among the GPTW’s Best Workplaces for countries around the world.
