_Provider of tokenization software helps secure mobile payments for Interac debit card users_

Today [Rambus Inc.](http://www.rambus.com/) (NASDAQ: RMBS) announced that it is working with Google and Interac Association / Acxsys Corporation, the organizations behind [Canada’s](https://www.financedigest.com/different-employee-engagement-outcomes-for-u-s-and-canadian-companies-amidst-continued-economic-growth-pressures.html) leading payment brand, to enable _Interac®_ Debit on Android Pay in Canada. Through the _Interac_ Token Service Provider (TSP), which was developed in collaboration with [Rambus](https://www.rambus.com/security/mobile-payments/token-service-provider/), _Interac_ debit cardholders can make secure mobile debit payments, now using [Android Pay](https://www.financedigest.com/ksmartech-expands-trustonic-partnership-to-secure-authentication-for-ios-and-android-apps.html), through tokenized transactions.

Beyond ease of use, Android Pay is more secure because it doesn’t share credit or debit card numbers with the merchant when consumers pay in stores, but uses a [virtual account number to represent the card](https://www.financedigest.com/virtual-cards-will-help-lead-the-travel-industry-into-a-post-pandemic-boom.html "Virtual cards will help lead the travel industry into a post-pandemic boom"). Additionally, if the phone is ever lost or stolen, consumers can simply use Google’s Find My Device feature to instantly lock the device, secure it with a new password, or wipe it clean of their personal information.
