# Healthy investment for patient engagement software

The developers of a communication platform that offers secure digital access to healthcare services have received £200,000 of seed funding in a deal led by [Mercia Fund Management](http://link.email.dynect.net/link.php?DynEngagement=true&H=WAA0HYy4enWklLGLVOCoftvRiKxkwcx7028A%2BNZlWSzSEaUD3cyAX3nXJA3EGwVRee5Ax7nKPjU%2BAmNRhQj%2BVcWtPn7zQl6NCTEr93v1JQ9l1naEh8OGNuzKFSArOfWg&G=0&R=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.merciafund.co.uk&I=20170515074632.0000003a2056%40mail6-33-usnbn1&X=MHwxMDQ2NzU4OjU5MTJiZTA5NzY4ZjMxYWQxMDE3NThlYjs%3D&S=iLgeGlU20UuPX4fYrzXKNOP9kLdNqALrAuCQnOhyz8g) and involving the NHS-backed West Midlands Academic Health Science Networks (AHSNs) fund.

The platform is designed to improve patient engagement and make it easier for clinicians to measure patient outcomes outside of a healthcare setting.

For patients, the service will enable them to spot patterns in their behaviour that affect their health, communicate with their clinician and empower them to practice self-care so they can take responsibility for their health and wellbeing.

Health Centrified will use the early-stage investment to support the development, evaluation and commercialisation of its software platform. As well as working with UK organisations, the Birmingham-based [company is also looking to build relationships](https://www.financedigest.com/building-stronger-relationships-with-insurance-companies.html "Building Stronger Relationships With Insurance Companies") with US healthcare providers.
