Generation Z is rapidly entering the workforce, and reaching full financial maturity. Yet, many already have savings accounts, more than any other generation, at their age. For banking solutions looking to capitalize on this [emergent generation](https://www.financedigest.com/surgical-masks-market-emerging-trends-and-will-generate-new-growth-opportunities-status-2030.html "Surgical Masks Market: Emerging Trends and Will Generate New Growth Opportunities Status 2030") (Gen Z typically comprises those born between 1995 and 2010), their marketing strategies must evolve to suit their unique habits.

Personalization is essential. 74% of all consumers, across generations, [expect to be treated like an individual in their marketing](https://www.financedigest.com/meat-alternatives-market-expectations-growth-trends-highlighted-until-2031.html "Meat Alternatives Market Expectations & Growth Trends Highlighted Until 2031"). For Gen Z, who [spends much of their time on curated social media](https://www.financedigest.com/dutch-to-spend-16-billion-to-cushion-effects-of-inflation-media.html "Dutch to spend billion to cushion effects of inflation -media") platforms like Instagram and TikTok, this is especially vital. In order to obtain the best results, financial organizations will need to have a solid foundation of who Gen Z is, what they want and where they can best fit in. From there, [financial marketers](https://www.financedigest.com/marketing-in-a-new-financial-frontier.html "Marketing in a new financial frontier ") will be able to determine the best channels for their message and plan for the rapidly-approaching future, as this generation fully integrates into adulthood.

## **Gen Z: Planning Their Financial Future**

64% of Gen Z report their lives not being where they thought they would be, by their current age. Some of this disappointment stems from increased economic uncertainties— while many in Gen Z are currently employed, they disproportionately worked in [industries that were hit hard in the COVID-19 pandemic](https://www.financedigest.com/virtual-cards-will-help-lead-the-travel-industry-into-a-post-pandemic-boom.html "Virtual cards will help lead the travel industry into a post-pandemic boom"), which has stalled their earning potential as they hunt for and move between jobs. However, as economic circumstances improve, financial institutions looking to reach Gen Z have an enormous [opportunity](https://www.financedigest.com/broadening-horizons-exploring-diverse-opportunities-in-the-financial-markets.html "Broadening Horizons: Exploring Diverse Opportunities in the Financial Markets") to personalize their outreach through emphasizing financial wellness.

Many in Gen Z want to improve their [financial wellness habits and learn](https://www.financedigest.com/harnessing-ai-and-machine-learning-for-fraud-detection-in-trade-finance.html "Harnessing AI and machine learning for fraud detection in trade finance") how to save and spend effectively. Over half of Gen Z participants, when surveyed by Mintel, indicated that they wanted to learn how to save for the future. This forward-thinking mindset means that those who can create accessible tools to improve financial literacy will get ahead in their outreach efforts. Keeping things simple is key— as they reach financial maturity, many in Gen Z are looking into checking and savings accounts, or [credit cards](https://www.financedigest.com/chinese-payment-giants-revive-effort-to-accept-foreign-credit-cards.html "Chinese payment giants revive effort to accept foreign credit cards"), with a far smaller number interested in larger items like loans.

Competition is particularly high to gain Gen Z’s attention. While their respect is high for established financial institutions, they are also the generation most likely to utilize a neobanking solution, in conjunction with a traditional provider. They are also [exploring emerging](https://www.financedigest.com/organic-farming-an-emerging-trend-in-acorn-squash-market-explore-fact-mr-report.html "Organic Farming – An Emerging Trend In Acorn Squash Market, Explore Fact.MR Report") fintech technologies, which means that they will pay attention to institutions investing in the future. With this level of background information, financial marketers can better inform their [strategies](https://www.financedigest.com/automotive-balance-shaft-market-competitor-analysis-winning-strategies-and-growth-drivers-2025.html "Automotive Balance Shaft Market Competitor Analysis, Winning Strategies and Growth Drivers 2025") for marketing outreach to Gen Z.

## **Investing in Technological Advancement**

In addition to reaching Gen Z as who they are, [marketers will also want to reach](https://www.financedigest.com/plywood-market-to-reach-a-valuation-of-us-115-bn-by-2028-comprehensive-research-report-by-fmi.html "Plywood Market to reach a valuation of US$ 115 Bn by 2028 – Comprehensive Research Report by FMI") them where they are. Considering their increasingly-connected nature means that [marketing strategies](https://www.financedigest.com/poly-p-phenylene-2-6-benzobisoxazole-pbo-market-future-innovation-strategies-growth-profit-analysis-forecast-by-2029.html "Poly-p-phenylene-2, 6-benzobisoxazole (PBO) Market: Future Innovation Strategies, Growth & Profit Analysis, Forecast By 2029") must remain on the cutting edge of technological innovation, and should look towards the future in order to truly get ahead.

Mobile banking solutions are hugely popular amongst [younger generations](https://www.financedigest.com/british-monarchys-fashion-mantle-passes-to-younger-generation.html "British monarchy’s fashion mantle passes to younger generation"), such as Gen Z, because of its ease of access. Because of its increasing prevalence, enhancing mobile efforts in financial marketing strategies can allow for greater insights into this group. Financial marketers should [consider utilizing mobile advertising solutions and make sure assets](https://www.financedigest.com/naturgys-profit-rises-on-lng-gains-soothing-shareholders-by-pietro-lombardi-madrid-reuters-spanish-power-utility-naturgy-reported-on-monday-an-88-jump-in-profit-for-the-first-six-months-of.html "Naturgy’s profit rises on LNG gains, soothing shareholders By Pietro Lombardi MADRID (Reuters) – Spanish power utility Naturgy reported on Monday an 88% jump in profit for the first six months of the year, boosted by strong earnings at its liquefied natural gas (LNG) business, which could help it to win over restive investors. Earlier this month, the company said it would increase its dividend floor through 2025 while trimming expected investment, as it sought to make rewarding shareholders a priority. Pleasing them has become a focus as Naturgy considers changes that could reshape the company and after arguments over the potential appointment of a chief executive. Naturgy’s first-half net profit jumped to 1.05 billion euros (.16 billion), boosted by its liquefied natural gas (LNG) business. Shares were down 0.2% in mid-morning trading, bucking deeper declines, in particular for Spain’s blue-chip banks and utilities after a general election on Sunday produced no clear winner. Renta 4 Banco analyst Angel Perez Llamazares said Naturgy performed better than expected, adding “cash flows also beat our expectation,” and debt fell more than expected. After natural gas prices hit record levels last year, Naturgy said a fall in procurement costs this year and hedging gains had boosed profits. In the first half of the year, the company “exceeded the objectives of operating efficiency, cash generation, investment materialisation and debt reduction,” Executive Chairman and CEO Francisco Reynes said. After rival Iberdrola named a separate CEO last year, Naturgy is the only large energy company in Spain to combine the roles of executive chairman and CEO. Earlier this month, the company raised the dividend floor to 1.40 euros a share, from 1.20 euros. Operating profit (earnings before interest, tax, depreciation and amortisation) is expected to reach 5.1 billion euros, compared with a previous guidance of 4.8 billion euros. It said it was targeting net profit of 1.8 billion euros in 2025. Naturgy also relaunched its plan to split regulated infrastructure operations and liberalised energy businesses into two listed companies. The project had been suspended after the Ukraine war disrupted energy markets and analysts are still sceptical. “We believe it is unlikely that Naturgy will be able to implement its asset split in the short term and it is also unlikely that a big change in the shareholding of the company would occur,” said RBC analyst Fernando Garcia. ( = 0.8986 euros) (Reporting by Pietro Lombardi, editing by Inti Landauro and Barbara Lewis)") like the company website are up to date and mobile-friendly.

Of course, social media and Gen Z go hand-in-hand. Often called digital natives, some Gen Z individuals check their social media [accounts up to 100 times](https://www.financedigest.com/hmrc-annual-report-and-accounts-2020-21-debt-at-an-all-time-high.html "HMRC Annual Report and Accounts 2020/21 – Debt at an All-time High") a day. This multifaceted channel is an essential component for outreach— however, a brand’s account is only half the battle. [Gen Z is less likely than other generations](https://www.financedigest.com/gen-z-significantly-prefers-user-generated-content-older-millennials-lean-toward-streaming-inmobi-insights-survey-shows.html "Gen Z Significantly Prefers User-Generated Content, Older Millennials Lean Toward Streaming, InMobi Insights Survey Shows") to engage with brands as opposed to their peers on social media, meaning that some marketing efforts should fall to outside sources, such as engaging influencers. Gen Z is also image-focused— content such as short videos will perform better than a blog post. Marketers should consider strategies that note these preferences, such as an influencer-led video series with actionable takeaways for [saving money](https://www.financedigest.com/the-top-strategies-for-saving-money-on-energy-costs.html "The Top Strategies for Saving Money on Energy Costs") effectively.

As well as keeping current, it is essential that financial [marketers work to get ahead of the innovation](https://www.financedigest.com/the-vitamins-supplements-market-to-witness-innovation-based-sartorial-grandeur.html "The Vitamins Supplements Market To Witness Innovation-Based Sartorial Grandeur") curve. As early adopters, it won’t be long before these technologies are [expected as standard— meaning](https://www.financedigest.com/explainer-india-g20-presidency-2023-what-does-it-mean-and-what-can-we-expect.html "Explainer-India G20 presidency 2023: what does it mean and what can we expect") that the institutions that begin investing and implementing these solutions now will see a large advantage down the road.

Just as they [invest in the future](https://www.financedigest.com/should-you-invest-in-nfts-or-their-future-practical-uses-in-tech.html "Should You Invest in NFTs, or Their Future Practical Uses in Tech?"), Gen Z is hopeful for their own and is striving to enter into full financial maturity. Reaching them personally, through the social channels that know them best, [marketers can not only provide a solution](https://www.financedigest.com/compliance-and-traceability-solution-market-growth-future-prospects-and-competitive-analysis-2015-to-2025.html "Compliance and Traceability Solution Market Growth, Future Prospects And Competitive Analysis 2015 to 2025") to Gen Z’s financial needs, but can strive to give actionable guidance for their future, building a unique niche in their daily lives.
