The first apartments of Nine Elms to be launched this year went on sale with great success last week. Bellway Homes’ flagship development The Residence, in Ponton Road, was launched on Thursday (March 2) with 79 homes sold at launch. More than 100 visitors attended the launch and were guided around four show apartments, a large gym and yoga room, media lounge, meeting suite and a concierge area, before being shown the interactive model of how the finished development will look.

The development will comprise a stunning collection of one, two and three bedroom apartments, attuned to the demands of modern, city living. There will be 324 private residential homes rising to 19 storeys high at the development. It forms part of the major transformation of this once industrial area into a thriving residential and business district, at the heart of the capital.

Emma Denton, Head of Sales at Bellway Thames Gateway, comments: “This is the first launch of a new development in Nine Elms for some time. Many other developments have already been sold. It is great to see so many potential buyers still excited in the regeneration of this area and investing in a future of an amazing location.

“Our development is proving successful as it will be just over 100 metres from the new Zone 1 tube station and we are seeing first-time buyers, families and investors alike keen to be a part of London’s newest and exciting district. We urge interested buyers to come down and see our show apartments for themselves before the first phase is sold out.”

The development, on the former Christie’s Auctioneers fine art warehouse will also include 2,475m² of commercial space, to bring new retail and lifestyle amenities to the area including, an art gallery. The major regeneration project will also bring new jobs, facilities and travel infrastructure to the area, including a new Apple HQ and American Embassy.

Sixty-one homes are now left to sell in Haines House, the first phase of The Residence to be launched.

Internally, the apartments will boast a contemporary design and an exceptional specification. Kitchens will offer quality appliances and bathrooms offer spa-like fittings. Floor to ceiling windows offer light-filled rooms, with many offering great views across London.

The area will provide residents of the new homes in Nine Elms with a myriad of leisure opportunities on their doorstep. Retail is a major focus of the area’s transformation, with outdoor shopping areas and parades attracting retailers large and small, enhancing existing stores in the area, offering plenty of shopping choices for residents.

Transport options are extensive, making the new homes ideal for commuters. Several local bus routes go into central London and south to Clapham Junction and Wandsworth, and Vauxhall, a short walk away, offers underground services on the Victoria Line, as well as national rail services into London Waterloo, Clapham Junction and Surrey and Hampshire. Work has already begun on the extension to the Northern Line, creating the New Nine Elms underground station that will be located just over 100 metres walk away for even swifter commutes.
