The UK’s largest independent tech retailer surveyed the nation to find out about our TV viewing habits, and if we [really get value for money](https://www.financedigest.com/who-really-controls-your-money.html "Who Really Controls Your Money?") from our subscription services.

The [research revealed](https://www.financedigest.com/the-pandemics-impact-on-working-mothers-new-research-reveals-that-two-thirds-have-stopped-working-or-now-work-less.html "The Pandemic’s Impact on Working Mothers: New Research Reveals That Two-Thirds Have Stopped Working or Now Work Less") that the average Brit gets through 16 episodes of TV a week, and pays £42 a month for TV subscription services – paying an average of just 65p per episode.

Not all viewers are getting value for money, however, as the research revealed that one in 16 (6%) Brits [pay up to £80 for subscription services but watch less than five episodes a week – skyrocketing their cost](https://www.financedigest.com/factbox-strikes-protests-in-europe-over-cost-of-living-and-pay-2.html "Factbox-Strikes, protests in Europe over cost of living and pay") per episode to £4.

Sky was named the most popular [subscription service](https://www.financedigest.com/how-to-press-cancel-on-the-threat-of-subscription-style-ransomware-services.html "How to press cancel on the threat of subscription-style ransomware services"), with half of respondents signed up to the TV giant, and over a third (34%) are also signed up to Netflix. Men were more likely to [invest in their binge watching](https://www.financedigest.com/top-5-investment-trends-to-watch-this-summer.html "Top 5 Investment Trends to Watch this Summer") habits, with one in 20 (5%) spending up to £90 a month.

Edinburgh residents were revealed to be the [biggest binge](https://www.financedigest.com/britains-binge-on-cheap-food-is-over-biggest-chicken-producer-says.html "Britain’s binge on cheap food is over, biggest chicken producer says") watchers, with one in nine residents powering through 35 hour-long episodes a week; the equivalent of a full time working week. 2. **Liverpool (9%)**
3. **Cardiff (7%)**
4. **Glasgow (7%)**
5. **Norwich (7%)**
