EasyCat which helps brands and businesses create their own digital catalogs, look-books, brochures and service portfolios on its cloud-based platform has moved to public beta.
Conceived as the world’s first catalog sharing network, the first six months were spent developing the EayCat platform and piloting it through demonstrations at the Digital Enterprise Show (DES) in Madrid, followed by Event Tech Live (ETL) in London. Then in March 2017 EasyCat delivered its first event partnership as the official catalog sharing solution for International Confex 2017 at Olympia, London.
Founder of EasyCat, Fadi Sabbagha says, “The beta launch is an important milestone in our journey. Central to the development of the platform has been gathering learnings and insights from early adopters. Delivering the best possible customer experience is a key priority for us, so we are asking all users to be as honest and upfront with their feedback and comments as possible.”
Feedback received firstly confirmed that EasyCat’s catalog creation process is easy and intuitive to use, and led to two product innovations. As a resultEasyCat is now available on tablet and has a business card scanning functionality that fully synchs with the app’s analytics.
EasyCat is confident that it has hit upon a format that is able to cross the b2b and b2c divide. Once brands and businesses have created their digital catalogs within the EasyCat platform, they can then share the content and track user engagement, while users can browse, search and follow the content that interests them to create curated collections. These can be shared privately with selected users or publicly via the user’s profile. The business model is a freemium one, with the current features free of charge and a paid business option in the pipeline.
The platform was inspired by the pain points of struggling to track reach and engagement following a positive interaction and the environmental impact of creating and transporting printed catalogs, especially within the context of exhibitions. Daniel Flynn, of Wireless Features who was one of the companies who created a digital catalog at International Confex explains,“Being ‘green’ is really important to us as a business, so using EasyCat for the event was a no brainer.”
In addition to partnering with International Confex, EasyCat joined forces with live event and experience pioneers, Innovision by providing the official content app for their Global Sports Project Conference (16 March 2017), proving its simple and intuitive credentials in the conference context as well as trade show and brand/buyer formats. Well over half the delegates downloaded the EasyCat app to access the event agenda, speaker profiles and photo galleries. EasyCat also exhibited in the Middle East at HORECA (4 – 7 April).
