SALAR DE UYUNI, Bolivia (Reuters) – On the otherworldly white salt flats of Bolivia’s Salar de Uyuni, an 11-year-old boy has become a photography success taking quirky and creative pictures of tourists – with a little help from a blue plastic dinosaur toy.

Piter Condori makes use of an unusual trick of perspective on the iconic salt flats, where the even white ground stretches to the horizon, allowing skillful snappers to make small objects close to the camera appear to be much larger and further away.

In his free time on the weekend, he takes photos of the Spinosaurus appearing to chase and attack tourists [across the white](https://www.financedigest.com/white-bullets-piracy-demonetising-programmes-drastically-reduce-ad-revenues-to-piracy-websites-across-europe-analysis-finds.html "White Bullet’s piracy demonetising programmes drastically reduce ad revenues to piracy websites across Europe, analysis finds") plains. In others he uses an empty beer bottle from which his subjects appear to be being poured out of or climbing into.

Condori said this helps get him extra [pocket money and to help his parents](https://www.financedigest.com/nearly-half-of-parents-still-give-pocket-money-to-their-adult-children.html "Nearly half of parents still give pocket money to their adult children") buy food, which has got pricier amid high inflation. Tourism meanwhile has declined in recent [years due](https://www.financedigest.com/signal-transformer-market-one-the-most-booming-industry-in-upcoming-years-due-to-global-demand-in-industry-by-2027.html "Signal Transformer Market| One the Most Booming Industry in Upcoming Years Due to Global Demand in Industry by 2027") to the impact of the coronavirus pandemic.

“I help to buy onions, potatoes, and lettuce. I [buy clothes for my brothers and toys](https://www.financedigest.com/research-reveals-small-outdoor-toys-are-the-best-buy-for-kids-this-christmas.html "Research reveals small outdoor toys are the best buy for kids this Christmas "). When they need school supplies. The vast area is also a trove of [electric vehicle battery](https://www.financedigest.com/battery-swapping-spurs-kenyas-electric-motorbike-drive.html "Battery swapping spurs Kenya’s electric motorbike drive") metal lithium, though there is little production and few economic benefits so far.

The [pandemic has hit locals](https://www.financedigest.com/how-has-the-pandemic-shifted-the-perception-of-the-local-bank-branch.html "How has the pandemic shifted the perception of the local bank branch?") hard.

Two [thousand Bolivian tourism operators nationwide are pushing the government](https://www.financedigest.com/southwest-cancels-thousands-more-flights-u-s-government-vows-scrutiny.html "Southwest cancels thousands more flights; U.S. government vows scrutiny") to relax restrictions on international tourism. “With the pandemic, we were in crisis. We didn’t even have [enough money](https://www.financedigest.com/nearly-40-of-millennials-dont-have-enough-money-to-invest-in-their-future.html "Nearly 40% Of Millennials Don’t Have Enough Money To Invest In Their Future") to eat,” said Diego Condori, Piter’s father, who works in the salt business. Piter’s mother sells handicrafts on the salt flat and five other siblings sometimes help out too.

We had [small savings](https://www.financedigest.com/4-ways-small-businesses-can-save-money-while-outsourcing.html "4 Ways Small Businesses Can Save Money While Outsourcing"), and they ran out. We have dedicated ourselves to working in tourism as a family. Our children help us to take photos,” the father added.
